Procedures
    DAILY MAINTENANCE OF FLOORS

    Tools - Dust mop | PPE | Measuring Cup | Wet Floor Signs | Garbage Liners | Floor Cleaner | Bucket and Wringer | Extension Cords | Blue Pads | Mop and Handle

    Description
    Gather all of your Tools. Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Dust the area that will be maintained. Place wet floor or caution Signs in appropriate areas. Mix the neutral cleaner in a bucket. Damp Mop the floor with using a figure 8 pattern. Change Mop Wateroften. Clean Upthe equipment after use.

    PPE
    What to do: Wear protective equipment, such as goggles or safety glasses, gloves.
    Why: To protect yourself from chemical contact.
    Reason: To reduce the risk of having an adverse reaction to chemical that one has come into contact with.

    Dust
    What to do: Dust mop all surfaces.
    Why: To remove hair, dust, paper, wrappers, or any other substance or material scraped up in the prior procedure.
    Reason: The removal of gross soil will allow for an easier scrub process by removing any sharp materials from scratching the floor.

    Signs
    What to do: Place wet floor signs in appropriate areas, and barrier tape where needed.
    Why: To alert passers by that there is a wet floor or that there is work in progress.
    Reason: To protect passers by from slip and fall incidents.

    Mix
    What to do: Mix chemical according to dilution specified. NO MORE, NO LESS.
    Why: Properly mixed chemical will work better.
    Reason: Chemical that is mixed properly will react better with the environment it was intended to work with.

    Damp Mop
    What to do: Use a clean mop bucket and wringer or an auto scrubber with red pads. Use a figure 8 pattern to fill the U shape in.
    Why: The figure 8 pattern will crisscross itself to avoid holes or patches of dirty floor.
    Reason: The figure 8 allows the mop to move freely without ever lifting or reapplying the mop to the floor.

    Change Mop Water
    What to do: Change the bucket of solution and replace it with fresh cleaning solution.
    Why: The cleaning solution becomes dirty as it is used.
    Reason: You do not want to spread or reapply dirty mop water to the floor.

    Clean Up
    What to do: Rinse and wash all equipment. Dispose of used pads in garbage liners.
    Why: So the equipment will be clean and uncontaminated for the next use. The pads can either be rinsed out or disposed of properly.
    Reason: Clean equipment represents the people that use it.
