Procedures
    PRESPRAY

    Tools - PPE | Wet Floor Signs| Extension Cords | Vacuum | Measuring Cup | Spray Device | Prespray

    Description
    Gather all of your Tools. Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Place wet floor or caution Signs in appropriate areas. Vacuum the area that will be treated and cleaned. Mix the prespray chemical in a Spray Device, such as a pressure sprayer. Spray the prespray on the heavily soiled areas of the carpet and let Dwell before proceeding to the next step of cleaning. Clean Up the equipment after use.

    PPE
    What to do: Wear protective equipment, such as goggles or safety glasses, and gloves.
    Why: To protect yourself from chemical contact.
    Reason: To reduce the risk of having an adverse reaction to chemical that one has come in contact with.

    Signs
    What to do: Place wet floor signs in appropriate areas and use barrier tape where needed.
    Why: To alert passers by that there is a wet floor or that there is work in progress.
    Reason: To protect passers by from slip and fall incidents.

    Vacuum
    What to do: Vacuum area that will be treated.
    Why: To pick up debris and soil that may be in the carpet.
    Reason: To prevent staining and excess soil from soaking into the carpet.

    Mix
    What to do: Mix prespray according to directions. NO MORE, NO LESS.
    Why: Properly mixed chemical will perform better.
    Reason: Chemical that is mixed properly will react better with the environment it was intended to work with.

    Spray
    What to do: Spray the solution on the carpet using a spray device. DO NOT LET THE CHEMICAL DRY.
    Why: To pre treat the carpet and allow the chemical to work the traffic areas and stains.
    Reason: By pre-spraying the carpet you are targeting traffic areas that need extra attention.

    Dwell
    What to do: Allow at least 5 minutes before proceeding to next step.
    Why: The dwell time will allow the prespray to work and break down the soils in the carpet.
    Reason: The chemical will break down the soils in the carpet and traffic areas by dwelling for the specified amount of time and reduce the amount of labor involved with the cleaning process.

    Clean Up
    What to do: Rinse and wash all equipment.
    Why: So the equipment will be clean and uncontaminated for the next use.
    Reason: Clean equipment represents the people that use it and extends the life of the equipment.

    Follow by Extraction, Bonnet Cleaning, or Restorative Cleaning.
